Join us in-person for our first Small Giants Communitea. An invitation to be together, to find the quiet amidst the chaos, in the humble ceremony of sitting tea.
A growing body of research supports the beneficial medicinal effects of tea drinking, illuminating it may be effective in reducing post-stress cortisol levels, strengthening your immune system and improving memory and concentration. Beyond the science, tea medicine is holistically integrative. It expands human physiology, allowing for self-belonging and purification of spirit.
The practice of sitting tea or tea ceremony can be referred to as Cha Dao, translated from chinese as “the way of tea.” It is an ancient practice with a long-standing lineage of tea sages, masters and teachers. It integrates tea as a plant, a drink and tradition as well as a medicine for the body, mind and spirit, and with that a dao or philosophy, is passed from a teacher to a student.
This evening is a public event which will run for two hours including arrivals and final goodbyes. There is capacity for 12 people to ensure the tea host can tend to everyone present. Please note the ceremony will take place on floor pillows, let us know upon securing your place if you need accessibility support. All are welcome and no prior experience required. We recommend you eat dinner after the conclusion of the evening.
Communitea will be led by Ellie Harris, who is a dedicated student of Global Tea Hut.
